tass.com – Russian army in Ukraine focuses on military targets, mercenaries — Kremlin spokesman
The Russian army carries out strikes against military warehouses, industrial facilities where military equipment undergoes maintenance and repairs, ammunition depots and the sites where mercenaries and nationalist elements are stationed and trained, Dmitry Peskov reiterated
MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. The Russian army in the process of the special military operation in Ukraine avoids hitting civilian facilities to stay focused entirely on military targets and mercenaries’ training sites, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Friday.
”I would like to remind you once again Russia’s president and commander-in-chief has repeatedly said that the Russian army during the special military operation does not attack civilian targets or civilian infrastructure. It carries out strikes against military warehouses, industrial facilities where military equipment undergoes maintenance and repairs, ammunition depots and the sites where mercenaries and nationalist elements are stationed and trained,” Peskov said while commenting on media claims a missile had hit an apartment building in the Odessa Region.
Peskov advised the media to contact the Russian Defense Ministry for details.

tass.com – Kiev is preparing a provocation with cluster munitions in Odessa — Defense Ministry
Odessa authorities plan to stage a damage to a social object with a crowd scene, Russian Defense Control Center head Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev said
MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. The Kiev regime is preparing a provocation in Odessa in order to accuse Russian forces of murdering civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure with prohibited cluster munitions, Russian Defense Control Center head Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev said Friday.
”In Odessa, the Kiev regime is preparing another devious provocation in order to accuse Russian Armed Forces of murdering civilians (including minors) and deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure with cluster munitions, forbidden by international conventions,” Mizintsev said.
According to the general, Odessa authorities plan to stage a damage to a social object with a crowd scene (up to 30 persons), prepared from anti-Russian activist, who will act as dead and injured in case of Russian fire at Ukrainian forces’ deployment locations.
After the footage is filmed, all participants will receive payment of $500 each, Mizintsev said, adding that every provocateur has already received $100. In order to perform this provocation, up to 20 foreign reporters together with UNICEF employees were delivered to Odessa between June 26 and 28.
”We warn the international community and international organizations in advance that this and other similar fake reports about alleged ‘Russian atrocities,’ fabricated by the Kiev authorities with support of Western supervisors will be widely disseminated in the media,” Mizintsev said.

I would like to remind you of the president’s words that the Russian Armed Forces do not work with civilian targets,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.”

Lägger in några uttalanden av Rysslands president nyligen.
”Everything was fine before between us, but now there will be tension, of course, I repeat, if we are threatened.”
rt.com – Putin speaks about Ukraine during first foreign trip since February
The Russian president shared his thoughts on the latest NATO summit and Moscow’s goals
Russia’s objectives in Ukraine have not changed, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday during a press conference in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
“Nothing has changed,” Putin confirmed, saying that the final goal is “to liberate Donbass, to protect these people and to create conditions that would guarantee the safety of Russia itself. That’s it.”
The president clarified that while the goals stay the same, the tactics used to achieve them may change according to what the military considers appropriate. However, he insisted that “everything is going according to plan.”
“I’m not talking about deadlines, I never do, because that’s life, this is reality. Imposing deadlines is wrong, because it is related to the intensity of fighting, and the intensity is directly linked to the possible casualties. And we have to first and foremost think about preserving the lives of our guys,” he said.
Commenting on NATO Secretary-General’s confession that the bloc was getting ready for a conflict since 2014, Putin said that it was “nothing new” for Moscow. He added that for a long time, the US has been looking for an external enemy in order to rally the allies around Washington, and Russia was a better fit for that role than Iran.
This once again confirms what we have been saying all along: that NATO is a Cold War relic. We were always told that NATO has changed, that it is a political bloc now, but everyone was looking for a chance and a justification to give it a new momentum as a specifically military organisation. And there you go, they do it.
Responding to questions about Finland and Sweden joining the bloc, Putin said that West’s portrayal of this as the defeat of Russia’s purpose of keeping NATO away is completely false.
“We don’t have the kind of problems with Sweden and Finland that we unfortunately do with Ukraine,” he said. “We have no territorial disputes, we have nothing that would worry us with regards to Finland’s and Sweden’s NATO memberships. If they want to, let them.”
“They have to clearly understand that they didn’t have any threats before, but now, if military forces and infrastructure are located there, we will be forced to respond tit-for-tat, and create the same threats for the territories we are threatened from,” Putin warned. “This is obvious. Do they not understand it? Everything was fine before between us, but now there will be tension, of course, I repeat, if we are threatened.”
However, Putin underlined that at this time, Moscow does not view the potential threats from Stockholm and Helsinki as dangerous as the ones that have been coming from Kiev over the past years.
For us, Finland and Sweden in NATO is entirely different from Ukraine in NATO.
Russia sent troops into Ukraine on February 24, citing Kiev’s failure to implement the Minsk agreements, designed to give the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk special status within the Ukrainian state. The protocols, brokered by Germany and France, were first signed in 2014. Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has since admitted that Kiev’s main goal was to use the ceasefire to buy time and “create powerful armed forces.”
