13 juli – Grekland

Ellen Brown lade fram en del förslag – “Guerrilla Warfare Against a Hegemonic Power”: The Challenge and Promise of Greece – och det finns fler bland kommentarerna.

Michael Hudson intervjuas på The Real News, för några dagar sen – Why Greece’s Debt is Illegal

What Greece has to do, in effect, is reinvent the wheel. It has to say, “Look, there has to say some body of law as an alternative to anarchy.” Because under anarchy, the central bankers can come in and grab whatever they want, or try to bankrupt Greece and drive it out of the Eurozone, and create a disaster.
There should be a principle that if a country is a sovereign country, it has the right to say “Here are the terms on which we can repay the debt.” That’s part of international law since 1648. That was the year when the 30 Years’ War ended and the definition of a state came into being. A state is defined as having the ability to issue its own money, levy its own taxes, and set its own laws, as well as the ability to go to war.
Greece has that right, but the Eurozone is saying, “Wait a minute, you’re part of the Eurozone now. Even though the Eurozone doesn’t have a parliament, even though in the absence of the Eurozone being a political entity, you have to do what the bankers say. And we bankers work for a bunch of very, very wealthy Europeans and foreign investors. We want your land.”
It’s basically as if the mafia has taken over Europe. Greece is trying to save Europe from these crooks

rt.com – ”The agreement is complex, but Greece avoided the transfer of its state property abroad, as well as financial strangulation and destruction of the financial system, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras commented.”

– Yanis Varoufakis full transcript: our battle to save Greece

Schäuble was consistent throughout. His view was “I’m not discussing the programme – this was accepted by the previous government and we can’t possibly allow an election to change anything. Because we have elections all the time, there are 19 of us, if every time there was an election and something changed, the contracts between us wouldn’t mean anything.”
So at that point I had to get up and say “Well perhaps we should simply not hold elections anymore for indebted countries”, and there was no answer. The only interpretation I can give [of their view] is “Yes, that would be a good idea, but it would be difficult to do. So you either sign on the dotted line or you are out.”

German Finance Minister Schäuble’s Plan for Europe: Do Europeans Approve?

Pre-publication summary: Five months of intense negotiations between Greece and the Eurogroup never had a chance of success. Condemned to lead to impasse, their purpose was to pave the ground for what Dr Schäuble had decided was ‘optimal’ well before our government was even elected: That Greece should be eased out of the Eurozone in order to discipline member-states resisting his very specific plan for re-structuring the Eurozone.

  • This is no theory.
  • How do I know Grexit is an important part of Dr Schäuble’s plan for Europe?
  • Because he told me so!

sputniknews.com – Beginning of the End: Collapse of Eurozone Has Started – German Media

According to DWN, this is the end of the EU in its previous form — a political union, cherishing mutual trust and democratic principles. The democracy is now becoming a marginal phenomenon. ‘Strong’ states now give ultimatums to ‘weak’ ones in a way that was never done before.

… Angela Merkel and Wolfgang Schäuble have overnight transformed the EU into an entity that is no longer held together by trust, but only by naked fear.
With the signing of the agreement with Greece the nightmare for the EU has begun. Life in Europe is no longer determined by contracts, but by the law of the jungle, the newspaper wrote.
